Chapter Fourteen: Characters

Pesky and eventually competent guard at the Court of the White Bull: NPC, Human male, we initially encounter him snoring at his post but, due to entirely understandable circumstances mostly beyond Elodie’s control, he does eventually wake up. And becomes a slight impediment to our speedy and stealthful departure from the stable. Elodie practices guile. Eliana does not need to practice. She deals with the situation effortlessly, with only the expected degree of irritation.

Maxeen: NPC, Paint Mare and informer for the Harpers. Awoken by the well-meaning spell of a Druid, she can speak Common. After languishing in Amphail for an unspecified period of time, waiting for her owner to return and claim her after his heroic quest, Maxeen is brought to the Deep by Mirt. Because her boy (the aforementioned owner, a man named Davin), was a Harper, Mirt makes sure that Maxeen is well taken care of and given a job that will keep her busy and content in Waterdeep. Well, as content as she can be while patiently and hopefully and endlessly awaiting her Davin’s return…
